Seven Day Air Ambulance Service for Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Service Realised 15 December 2008 Thanks to the commitment of its supporters, the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), operator of Anglia Two, the air ambulance serving Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, has announced that the aircraft will be operational seven days a week from 15 December 2008.
Anglia Two, one of the most advanced air ambulances in the UK, took to the skies in August 2007 but, until now, funding has only been available for the aircraft to fly five days a week. Despite the difficult economic climate, the EAAA says that its supporters have dug deep and, as a result, Anglia Two can now move to full operational service.
Emergency Medical Charities Plan to Merge 19 August 2008 Following high level talks between Cambridgeshire-based emergency medical charity Magpas and the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), the two organisations have agreed to plan a merger in order to create the most advanced emergency care service in the UK.
Both organisations provide a vital life-saving service across the region and have been sharing resources and expertise in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire since September 2007. This service has been operated in conjunction with the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust.
The merger is at an early stage and both charities will now be working together closely to understand each other’s operations in more detail helping them to maximize the benefits of the merger and to overcome any potential difficulties. They will also consult extensively with their respective staff, supporters, stakeholders and legislative bodies.
The EAAA have become Stopsley Striders' Charity of the Year Bedfordshire based Stopsley Striders have designated the East Anglian Air Ambulance as their charity of the year for the next 12 months.
